Smart Cities and Big Data Analytics: A Data-Driven Decision-Making Use Case

Interest in smart cities (SCs) and big data analytics (BDA) has increased recent years, revealing the bond between two fields. An SC is characterized as a complex system of systems involving various stakeholders, from planners to citizens. Within context SCs, BDA offers potential data-driven decision-making enabler. Although there are abundant articles literature addressing enabler mainstream research SCs focuses on either technical aspects or smartening specific domains. A small fraction these addresses proposition developing domain-independent frameworks. This paper aims answer following question: how can be used SCs? Answering this requires us also address traits frameworks practical considerations implementing framework for SCs’ decision-making. paper’s main contribution providing influential design based empirical foundations.
